Art Deco Mixte by BCW

A truly unique bicycle is in the works by Bilenky Cycle Works (BCW) of Philadelphia, the builder of my porteur

The famous Horton Collection of San Francisco coordinated the development of his and hers constructeur town bicycles. "It is our intention that these bicycles become truly “constructeur” in nature – virtually every component of each bicycle will be custom fabricated. We believe that this is the first time a modern, non‐racing constructeur bicycle has been built in nearly 50 years." The projects goal is to "celebrate the historical legacy of the constructeur bicycle... by approaching this project from a contemporary perspective – one that utilizes modern technology and embraces the participation of craftsmen across nationalities."

The BCW team was selected to build the "hers" version. Upon seeing their creation, images of Hugh Ferris's City of Tomorrow and the Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic immediately flashed through my mind.

Looking forward to seeing the final piece. Congratulations, BCW!
